Now in its fifeenth year, the Laguna Phuket Triathlon is considered Southeast Asia’s premier triathlon event with one of the most challenging and spectacular bike and run courses on the triathlon calendar. Defending champions Liz Blatchford and Massimo Cigana are expected to compete again to defend their titles but will face strong opposition from some of the finest pro athletes in the world. The event will again feature an age group competition, the Herbalife Corporate Challenge Team Relay and a 6Km Fun Run. The course makes its way from the start point on Esplanade Bridge, adjacent to the magnificent Esplanade, which is Singapore’s equivalent of the Sydney Opera House. The unique architecture of this icon, coupled with the enchanting view of the Singapore River at the backdrop, serves up an incredible image at the pre-dawn start.

The 4th Laguna Phuket International Marathon™ will take place on 14 June 2009. After the huge success of the 2008 event with well over 4,000 participants, organizers expect more than 5,000 participants including 2,000 international runners from more than 45 countries.

Online registration will open on 1 October 2008 and close on 1 June 2009. Early bird entry fees will apply until 31 March 2009. Accommodation packages will also be available for booking.
